The most intensive of our two conditioners. For everyday upkeep on leather in good condition, our Nourishing Conditioner is the lighter choice, and the one with the built-in UV filter. The Wonder Balm has no UV filter, so it revives rather than protects. Reserve it for pieces that visibly need it.
How to use
- Cleanse first and allow the leather to dry completely. Balm applied over dirt seals the dirt in.
- Apply sparingly to the cloth, never straight onto the bag. A little goes a long way, and this is a rich balm.
- Work over the leather in gentle, even circular motions without heavy pressure, section by section. Concentrate on the areas that need it, and work carefully around hardware.
- Leave it to penetrate for 30 to 60 minutes, then buff gently with a dry cloth until the surface is even and no residue remains.
- For heavily worn or very dry leather, build up over several days rather than in one sitting. Two or three light applications will always outperform one heavy one.
- Finish with our Water & Stain Guard once the leather has fully dried.
On dark leather, expect a little colour on your cloth. This is excess dye already in the leather, lifted because the balm penetrates so deeply. It is not damage. If you would rather avoid it altogether, use the balm sparingly, perhaps once a year.
Marks may improve rather than disappear. On deep or long-standing damage, if repeated applications make no difference at all, that is a sign the piece needs professional restoration.
Always test in an inconspicuous area before full use. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth.
Suitable for
- Smooth and finished leather - lambskin, calfskin, caviar, Empreinte, Epi, Togo, Epsom, Taurillon and grained leathers
- Any leather colour, light or dark
Not suitable for:
- Suede, nubuck or microfibre - the oils stain and flatten the nap permanently
- Fabric, embroidery and canvas
A word on vachetta. Conditioner can darken untreated vachetta. Use the Wonder Balm only on older vachetta that has genuinely dried out, and keep new or clean vachetta to our Water & Stain Guard alone.

How to revive leather with Wonder Balm
Cleanse, apply sparingly, let it work, buff. Build up over days, not in one sitting.
Cleanse and dry
Cleanse with the Gentle Foam Cleanser and allow the leather to dry completely before the balm goes anywhere near it.
Apply sparingly with the cloth
A little on the included cloth, never straight onto the bag. Gentle, even circular motions, section by section, concentrating on the areas that need it.
Let it penetrate, then buff
Leave for 30 to 60 minutes, then buff gently with a dry cloth until the surface is even and no residue remains. Repeat over several days for very dry leather.
Protect
Once fully dry, finish with two light coats of Water & Stain Guard. The balm feeds the leather. Protecting is what keeps the next spill out.

Will Wonder Balm cover scuffs and scratches?
Wonder Balm has no pigment, so it does not conceal colour loss. It can help light surface scratches as you buff it in, because the leather is fed and the finish evened. For scuffed corners and worn edges where colour has gone, a Leather Restore Pen is the one to reach for, applied before you protect.

Wonder Balm is the most intensive of our two conditioners, for leather that is aged, dry, worn or faded. The Nourishing Conditioner is lighter, has a built-in UV filter and is the everyday choice for leather in good condition.
There is colour on my cloth. Is that normal?
On dark leather, yes. This is excess dye already in the leather, lifted because the balm penetrates so deeply. It is not damage and it is not the balm removing the colour. If you would rather avoid it, use the balm sparingly, perhaps once a year.
Is it safe on suede, canvas or vachetta?
Not on suede, nubuck or microfibre, where the oils stain and flatten the nap permanently, and not on fabric, embroidery or canvas. On vachetta, use it only on older pieces that have genuinely dried out, and keep new or clean vachetta to the Water & Stain Guard alone.
